PlayStation Plus Premium: some classic games will include trophies

If nothing indicates that all classic games will have trophies (it even seems unlikely), we know that developers will have the freedom to integrate them into games released before the appearance of this system in 2008. As a reminder, PS2 games remastered on PS4 in 2018 had also benefited from trophies a posteriori. The presence of trophies on PS1 games was not mentioned in Sony’s recent announcement, but it did reveal that some PS1 and PSP games will feature a new user interface with menus to save the game at any time or to rewind the game to try again.

Other information communicated on Monday, players who have already purchased PS1 and PSP games in the past from the PlayStation Store will not need to make a new purchase or subscribe to PlayStation Plus to find the games in question on PS4 or PS5. “When these games release on PS4 and PS5, players will be able to head over to the PlayStation Store and download a version for their console at no additional cost if they already own the digital version. Some of the games will also be individually available for purchase“, can we read.

In the PS1/PSP department, SIE has so far only released a list of 10 titles: Ape Escape, Everybody’s Golf, Kurushi, Jumping Flash, Siphon Filter, Super Stardust Portable, Mr. Driller, Tekken 2, Worms World Party and Worms Armageddon. The list is however not exhaustive and especially does not take into account the update which takes place every middle of the month to bring new games to Extra and Premium subscribers.

The new PlayStation Plus formulas will be available on June 23 in Europe, but before that we will have the opportunity to take a look at the catalogs offered in Asia (May 24), Japan (June 2) and America (June 13). ). All generations combined, more than 700 games are expected at launch for Premium subscribers.
