PlayStation Stars: The rewards program will be launched on October 13, know everything

Since we have to get the PS5 price increase pill through one way or another, playstation is about to launch its loyalty program PlayStation Stars, presented several times in recent weeks. Past the sigh of relief after finding that it was not NFT to obtain, we did not really know what to expect with this program which was only too briefly detailed. PlayStation tells us a little more today, since the service is now available in Asia.

When will PlayStation Stars launch?

If it is released today in Asia, that does not mean that it is accessible in the rest of the world. Like the PlayStation Plus Extra & Premium, PlayStation preferred to go for a multi-stage, region-by-region launch.

Thereby, the PlayStation Stars will arrive on October 5 to our friends in North and South America, while in Europe we will have to wait until next October 13.

What is PlayStation Stars?

The PlayStation Stars aims to be a free program accessible from the PlayStation App application (or the PlayStation site) which will reward your activity on the PlayStation ecosystem.

To take part, you will need to have a PlayStation Network account, but you don’t need to be a PlayStation Plus subscriber to enjoy it. Even though by being one, you will be entitled to more advantagessuch as earning points by spending money in the PlayStation Store or paying for your subscription.

By performing specific actions, players participating in the program will gain access to rewards which are divided into two categories:

  • digital collectibles : These figurines represent key characters in the history of PlayStation or consoles and brand accessories (think of the museum ofAstro’s Playroom). These objects will be stored in a showcase that can be shared with the rest of the world.
  • Loyalty points : Once accumulated, these points can be used as funds for your PSN wallet or to buy digital collectibles.

The PlayStation Blog gives us an example of an activity that will be set up to earn points: One of our first campaigns is called ‘Press Play / 1994’. Members will need to run the matching games for song-based clues to get a special collectible. »

We are reminded once again that these items are not for sale, and are therefore not NFTsjust to avoid any confusion.

See you in a few days to see if this program will be appreciated by users or not.
