PlayStation supports Ukraine by suspending shipments of games and hardware to Russia

For several days, the big companies have expressed their support for Ukraine by suspending their interactions with Russia, by temporarily closing brands, or by stopping exchanges, for example. At the end of the State of Play, the Japanese company announced that it was also taking a few measures, in order to demonstrate this unanimously shared desire for the war to end.

No Gran Turismo 7 and a closed PlayStation Store

Until further notice, Sony Interactive Entertainment halts shipments of games, consoles and PlayStation hardware to Russia. The very recent Gran Turismo 7 will simply not see the light of day anytime soon on the Russian side. Finally, the PlayStation Store also remains closed for an indefinite period.

Beyond these suspensions, the Japanese firm also intends to donate 2 million dollars to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the international NGO Save the Children, in order to support all those suffering from the events that have place in Ukraine.

Faced with this more than welcome international solidarity in these troubled times, we hope that these measures will not last too long, which would be synonymous with renewed peace.
