sony obviously relies heavily on the success of the PlayStation VR 2, its upcoming VR headset that will harness the power of the PS5 and will launch next month. The Japanese manufacturer remains discreet about its sales forecasts, but according to BloombergLast year, sony intended to produce and sell two million PSVR 2 from the first month.
Since then, pre-orders have been launched, only on the online store playstation, but it’s already giving the automaker some insight into demand…and it looks a lot lower than expected. always according to Bloomberg, sony would have revised its forecasts downwards : it would count sell a million PSVR 2 during the launch periodthen another 1.5 million helmets by the end of the next fiscal year which will end on March 31, 2024.
sony therefore seems a little less confident about the immediate success of its virtual reality headset. Players have reason to be cautious, between a very high price of 599 € (to be combined with that of the PS5 costing €449 or €549 depending on the model) and games PSVR 1 not compatible with this new modelwithout forgetting the current need to go through the site of playstation to book his helmet, the players are trying their hand… perhaps waiting for the first tests?
