Presented as the world leader in eye tracking, Tobii announces that it is currently in negotiations with Sony Interactive Entertainment to become the supplier of the PlayStation VR2 eye tracking technology. Tobii’s star product is undoubtedly the Tobii Eye Tracker 5, a camera compatible with more than 160 PC games capable of detecting the movements of the user’s head and eyes. The company is also highlighting Tobii Horizon, an app built into some PCs that offers 6 degrees of freedom head tracking with the built-in camera.
Remember, moreover, that no external camera will be necessary to take advantage of the PS VR2 and that the inclusion or not of Tobii’s software technology in the headset would probably have no impact at this stage on the nature of the hardware. from Sony, whose technical sheet was already officially unveiled last month.
