All that was missing was knowing when the beast would be released, it’s now done. Sony has just unveiled the latest information that remained to be discovered on the PS VR2, the next virtual reality headset, namely its price and release date, via a press release on the brand’s blog.
The PlayStation VR2 will therefore be launched on February 22, 2023 at the recommended price of €600, i.e. €50 more expensive than the console of which it is the accessory. This basic version will include the headset, two PS VR2 Sense controllers and stereo headphones.
A second version will include a code for the game Horizon Call of the Mountain and will be sold for €50 more, for a total of €650.
Fairly early pre-orders
Sony therefore does not seem to shrink from offering a more expensive accessory than its console, which has already seen its price increase by 50 € recently. For those most interested, the brand will launch at the same time a charging station for its controllers at a price of 50 €.
Sony also took the opportunity to announce 11 new games for its PS VR2, including The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR, Crossfire: Sierra Squad or Cities: VR – Enhanced Edition.
Pre-orders for Sony’s headphones will start on November 15, which is relatively early compared to the announced release date of February 22, 2023. Players can even start signing up now on the direct.playstation.com to receive an invitation and increase their chances of acquiring the headset as soon as possible.
