Plucking eyebrows: it won't hurt with these tips

"Who wants to be beautiful must suffer." Unfortunately, this saying is often true. Especially the plucking of the eyebrows is one of the more painful procedures in our beauty routine. It doesn't have to be that uncomfortable.

Beautiful, well-groomed and carefully plucked eyebrows are very important to many of us. We either let the professional do it or trust ourselves. But how often do we put off plucking because it's just so painful? And does it really have to hurt that much? We'll show you the most helpful tips for a pain-free eyebrow routine.

A hot shower

The best time to pluck our eyebrows is right after a hot shower or a relaxing bath. The hot steam opens the pores and the hair can be pulled out of the skin more painlessly. If we don't have time to shower, we can alternatively use a warm washcloth that we put on our face before plucking.

Plucking – but in the right direction

An important tip for less pain: From now on we only pluck the eyebrows in the direction of growth. As a result, the skin is significantly less irritated and the eyebrow routine is easier and more painless.

Totally sensitive to pain?

Does this attribute apply to you? Then here's an extra tip. The place where the eyebrow should be plucked can simply be numbed briefly with an ice cube. As a result, we hardly notice the unpleasant, tugging feeling and can pluck more relaxed. However, the pores contract again as a result of the cold. Although this takes away the pain when plucking, it doesn't make removing the hair any easier.

The right tweezers

We can't avoid plucking – but the right tool can make the ritual easier for us. Our browbones are curved – that's why we recommend tweezers with angled tips. This avoids the hair not being removed at the roots or even breaking off. The rule here is: trying is better than studying. We use the tweezers shape, which is the easiest for us to handle and which makes it easier for us to pluck.

Follow-up is key

Even after plucking your eyebrows, it is important to take care of your skin – this can prevent irritation or even inflammation in the skin. Here you can also work with a hot washcloth again. This will calm the skin around the eyebrows much faster. Aloe vera gel can also soothe irritated skin quickly – give it a try!
