After having fascinated viewers for 18 years, Plus belle la vie, the historic soap opera of France 3, bade farewell to the public last Friday.

To keep fans of the program in suspense for so many years, many things have happened at the Mistral between love stories, breakups, secrets or even murders… Obviously, in such an old daily life, it is difficult or even impossible to avoid some script inconsistencies. Moreover, it seems that a new error has slipped into the final episode of the series.

Friday evening, CĂ©line (Rebecca Hampton) and Vincent (Serge Dupire) had a coffee on the Place du Mistral. The opportunity for fans of the series to discover the new Mistral plate renamed “Place Roland Marci 2004-2022”. A deserved tribute to the iconic owner of the most famous bar in Marseille who died on October 3 of a heart attack.

Of course, Roland (Michel Cordes) was certainly not born in 2004 but rather on February 13, 1942 in Marseille. Would it then be a blunder of the screenwriters or must there be another meaning?

In reality, these two years correspond to the beginning and the end of Plus belle la vie, i.e. from Monday August 30, 2004 to conclude on France 3 on Friday November 18, 2022. A wink in the form of a last tribute, assimilating the life of the series to one of its most outstanding characters.
