Plus belle la vie: were the writers really inspired by Desperate Housewives? Léa François (Barbara) answers

For the final plot of “Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle”, the writers were inspired by the last season of “Desperate Housewives”, as confirmed by Léa François (Barbara).

For several days in Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle, Barbara (Léa François), Blanche (Cécilia Hornus), Luna (Anne Décis) and Jennifer (Diane Dassigny) have been in turmoil.

Last week, the four friends went on a trip to the Luberon to meet a chef who could help them with their community program. Unfortunately, on the way back, they had a terrible encounter.

Yanis, the ex-partner of one of their protégées, actually followed them to set a trap for them. In her panic, Barbara accidentally knocked over the man, who died instantly. The four women then decided to bury him in the middle of the forest and keep this event a secret forever.

Unfortunately, in Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle, nothing ever goes as planned. Alerted to Yanis’ disappearance, the police have indeed started an investigation, led by Samuel. The four friends will therefore have to monitor the policeman and his investigation if they want to hope to get out of it.

A plot inspired by a famous American series

If this story rings a bell, it’s perfectly normal. The writers of Plus belle la vie, encore plus belle seem to have been inspired by a famous plot from Desperate Housewives.

Remember: in the season 7 finale, Gabby (Eva Longoria) was confronted by her stepfather Alejandro (Ramon Sanchez), who had abused her when she was little. While he tried to take advantage of her once again, Carlos (Ricardo Antonio Chavira), in order to protect her, fatally struck the man.

Bree (Marcia Cross), Lynette (Felicity Huffman) and Susan (Teri Hatcher) then made the decision to protect their friends by burying the body. The four women promised each other never to say anything. That was without counting on Susan, who had a hard time living with this secret.

A striking plot which is therefore not without recalling this new arc of Plus belle la vie, even more beautiful.

Léa François confirms the inspiration

Internet users were quick to express their surprise on social media at this striking resemblance between the two series. In a Story published on her Instagram account, Léa François, who plays the character of Barbara, confirmed that this plot was indeed a tribute to Desperate Housewives.

Between Desperate Housewives and Pretty Little Liars. And we’re not at the end of our surprises…” she explained. The tribute to the series Pretty Little Liars that the actress is talking about should arrive in the next few days.

The four friends will indeed face a crow who will threaten to reveal everything. Luna, Barbara, Blanche and Jennifer are therefore far from being at the end of their troubles.
