“Plus belle la vie”: why was a sequence shot at the last minute?

On September 19, “Plus belle la vie” will pay tribute in its own way to Queen Elizabeth II. Following the disappearance of the Queen of England, the production has indeed decided to shoot a scene at the last minute to evoke the funeral of the sovereign, which will take place that day. This rebound in the face of current events is the hallmark of the cult series of France 3.

As usual, the series More beautiful life keep sticking to the news. According to information from Puremediathe episode which will be broadcast on Monday, September 19 would have undergone a last-minute modification to add an event that occurred very recently: the death of Queen Elizabeth II, on September 8 at the age of 96.

A scene to evoke the funeral of the queen

Indeed, on September 19, the funeral of the Queen of England will take place. The teams of More beautiful life would therefore have shot a special sequence in the Marseille studios. Viewers will thus be able to discover a scene at the start of the episode in which the characters of Nathan (Thibaud Vaneck), Mirta (Sylvie Flepp) and Yolande (Elisabeth Commelin) evoke this major current event. All three will find themselves in the setting of the Zéphyr, the hotel on the Place du Mistral, a fictional square which is the central setting of the series.

End clap for More beautiful life

As reminded Puremediathe filming of the More beautiful life will end on September 29 after 18 years of existence. “It will therefore be the last scene of the series shot at the last minute to make the characters of daily fiction react to a significant event”, underlines the news site. This way of bouncing back to current events is the hallmark of the production. “The series tries to be as close as possible to the lives of our viewers. Each time we dive into the heart of the news, the public is touched”, explained in 2018 to our colleagues from the Figaro Christine Coutin, Editorial Director of More beautiful life at France Televisions.

The last episodes of the cult series from France 3 will be broadcast in two months.
