"I do not see how we could not make a gesture towards these families and reimburse the care of PMA insofar as it would be deferred for a few weeks or even a few months if necessary," said Olivier Véran, Minister of Health, during a hearing by the Social Affairs Committee of the Senate, noted by Le Monde.

Medically assisted procreation (PMA) will therefore be reimbursed by Social Security but for women who have exceeded the age limit for care, 43 years old, due to the cessation of their journey during confinement.

"I answer you without having arbitration or without having discussed it around me, but at least it will have the value of a ministerial decision", he added, in response to Senator (PS) from Loire-Atlantique Michelle Meunier. This provision only applies to "lhe families benefiting from an LDC journey in France ", said Olivier Véran.

Disappointment: there is no solution for LDCs abroad yet. "I do not have a solution, alas, to propose", since "we are not in a legal situation at the time when I speak to you (…) until we have passed the bioethics law , reason why we must vote the bioethics law, "said the minister, recalling that the European borders would reopen on June 15.

The health crisis has completely upset and even prevented consideration at second reading of the bioethics bill, which notably authorizes the PMA for single women and couples of women, voted at first reading in the Senate last February.

This long-awaited review will take place "as soon as the sanitary conditions " will allow "bring together as many parliamentarians as possible " in session, declared Olivier Véran Tuesday during the session of questions to the government in the National Assembly, if possible in July and if not in September.

Little reminder: according to figures from the biomedicine agency, in 2016, there were "147,730 attempts at artificial insemination, IVF or frozen embryo transfers intra-conjugal or with third-party donors, compared to 102,601 in 2014 ". An artificial insemination costs an average of 950 euros, and an attempted in vitro fertilization 2,883 euros , according to Health Insurance data in 2014.
