Of the graphics cards always larger while we now integrate fans of 12 centimeters in diameter.
PNY announces an RTX 4090 graphics card monster with an almost “classic” length of 31 centimeters, but a thickness of 8.9 centimeters. We are not very far from the five occupied PCIe slots.
The previous ASUS x Noctua
If you follow developments in the world of graphics cards, you must have noticed how the most recent generations have tended to become overweight.
Whether it’s the GeForce RTX 3000 or RTX 4000 from NVIDIA or the Radeon RX 6000 and RX 7000 from AMD, the dimensions can be very impressive on the beefiest models with, however, a record for NVIDIA products. since some manufacturers have decided to try the adventure with cooling specialists.
We are obviously talking about the incursions of the Austrian firm Noctua, which has signed with ASUS for the design of cards that are certainly devilishly discreet even when fully loaded, but also terribly bulky.
Two 12 centimeter fans by Cooler Master
Obviously, this partnership, which has been going on for several years now, has given ideas to both graphics card manufacturers and Noctua’s competitors. PNY and Cooler Master decided to imitate them.
At Computex 2023 in Taipei, the two partners presented the VERTO ARGB Dual Fan, an RTX 4090 which – as its name suggests – has “only” two fans. But like the ASUS x Noctua models, the fans in question are massive 12 centimeters while the graphics cards generally have 9.2 centimeters.
In fact, the VERTO is a card of extraordinary dimensions, as we said in the introduction. Its 31 centimeters long are not a record, but it is different from the 8.9 centimeters thick which even exceed the 8.75 centimeters of the RTX 4080 from ASUS / Noctua. In fact, if a 3-slot bracket is used, the card actually occupies 4.5 PCIe slots.
As part of a “classic” PC configuration, there will hardly be any room left to run the cables or add another card! Two versions of the card exist (white or black fans), but PNY has not communicated prices or launch date.
