Poco X5 5G: less “gamer” than the X5 Pro, but also cheaper

After a rather calm month of January, the telephone market is emerging from its torpor. Samsung got the ball rolling last week by formalizing its long-awaited Galaxy S23 series, OnePlus will present its 11 model and its Pad for Europe today, and the end of the month will be marked by the Mobile World Congress, high mass of the sector organized in Barcelona. Poco also came forward yesterday, formalizing its X5 Pro. This terminal is accompanied by a slightly more affordable X5 5G.

Roughly similar in terms of format, the Poco X5 adopts a 6.67-inch Amoled screen displaying a definition of 1080 x 2400 pixels. It offers a refresh rate up to 120Hz, like the X5 Pro. The difference is rather played out under its hood, since the Snapdragon 778G, whose performance is no longer to be proven, gives way to another chip from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 695, widely adopted last year by mid-range smartphones. range. The chip is here flanked by 6 to 8 GB of RAM, supplemented by storage of 128 to 256 GB.

The game of the seven differences continues on the field of the battery. It retains a capacity of 5000 mAh, standard to date, but loses the load to 67 W of the Pro model; the X5 prefers a 33 W charge. Finally, there are some changes to the photography department, the main module of the X5 Pro (108 megapixel sensor) being replaced by a 48 megapixel sensor, with f / 1.8 optics. The ultra wide-angle and macro modules (8 and 2 megapixel sensors) remain identical. In short, you will have understood that the X5 5G is aimed at a slightly less gamer and capable of compromise when it comes to photography. The price of the device is affected: count 299 € for the 8 / 128 GB model and 349 € for the 8 / 256 GB version of the Poco X5 5G, or fifty euros less than the Pro model.
