The excitement of CES does not prevent Xiaomi to take the time to present his new line-up to us affordable smartphones under the POCO flag.

The subsidiary of the giant Xiaomi organized a small presentation in Paris at the beginning of the week to tell us about the mobiles that will be available in the first half of 2024. I named the POCO X6 Pro, X6 and M6 Pro. We’ll give you a tour of the owner.

Poco X6 Pro and X6 have good resolutions

Let’s start with the top of the basket. Logically, the POCO X6 Pro and both the cameras and the brand of the Chinese brand.

Here we are dealing with two smartphones equipped with a 6.67″ AMOLED screen refreshed at 120 Hz. So far, nothing has changed compared to last year. Except that the resolution goes from Full HD to “1.5K”, which POCO calls CrystalRes and which we have already seen on the Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro, for example.

To complete the picture, POCO announces a touch sampling rate of 2160 Hz – a record, even if a small line at the bottom of the press release tells us that we will have to wait for an update to benefit from it.

But what are the differences between the two models? First there is that of expected performance. The POCO X6 Pro is equipped with the Dimensity-8300 Ultra SoC, engraved in 4 nm by TSMC. Its 8-core processor reaches a frequency of 3.35 GHz and supports LPDDR5X memory (8 or 12 GB) and UFS 4.0 storage (256 or 512 GB). The classic POCO

An architectural difference which will also offer the Pro model better connectivity (Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4) compared to the standard model.

In photos, however, it’s the same. We will find a 64 Mpx wide-angle which, for the first time at POCO, is stabilized via OIS. This module is accompanied by two others, much more modest: an 8 Mpx ultrawide and a 2 Mpx macro that we are already afraid to put to the test.

On the battery side, to conclude, the two smartphones are solidly equipped with a 5000 mAh battery and wired fast charging at 67W.

POCO M6 Pro: almost a gaming smartphone?

The last of the bunch, the POCO M6 Pro, has nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to most of its characteristics. The smartphone retains the beautiful 6.67-inch AMOLED screen refreshed at 120 Hz, but will make do with Full HD resolution.

Same thing for the photo and the battery: we find the same trio of sensors (and its stabilizer) as well as the 5000 mAh accumulator with 67W fast charging.

The only difference (apart from the price, detailed below), is at the processor level. Here we are back at MediaTek with a Helio G99-Ultra which seeks to appeal to broke gamers. Engraved in 6 nm, the chip includes an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2 GHz and an ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU capable of developing good performance even on demanding games. Like the X6, we will stay here on LPDDR4X memory and UFS 2.2 storage.

POCO X6 Pro, POCO X6, POCO M6 Pro: price and availability

These three new POCO smartphones will all run on HyperOS, the new Android overlay from the Xiaomi stable. They are available now at the following prices:
