Podcast. Can psychedelics heal us?

Long consumed at parties for their hallucinogenic power, psychedelics are now being studied very seriously by doctors. These powerful psychoactive products, banned in France, could help treat depression, certain addictions or even post-traumatic stress.

The scientific community has been wary of these substances for several decades and is gradually rediscovering some of their therapeutic virtues. Clinical trials are increasing in some countries, and should start within a few months in France.

What are the effects of psychedelics on the brain? How can they represent an alternative to conventional treatments? Are there any risks? In this episode of the “L’Heure du Monde” podcast, psychiatrists and researchers tell how psychedelics are about to revolutionize the therapeutic approach.

An episode written and presented by Claire Leys. Directed by: Thomas Zeng. Editor-in-chief: Adèle Ponticelli and Jean-Guillaume Santi.
