On October 7, 2001, almost a month to the day after the September 11 attacks that killed nearly three thousand people in the United States, then American President George W. Bush announced the start of bombings on the United States. Afghanistan. Objective announced: destroy the terrorist group Al-Qaida, at the origin of the attacks and hosted in the country by the Taliban regime, then at the head of Afghanistan.

Twenty years after the start of this war, which had led to the dissolution of Al-Qaida and the flight of the Taliban, what is the political situation in Afghanistan? What has happened to the Taliban and how have they managed to regain importance in this country over the years?
