Podcast. “Dune”, the accursed classic of science fiction

Dune, cursed work: this is the reputation that drags the novel by Frank Herbert published in 1965, despite twenty million copies sold throughout the world – one of the greatest successes of science fiction in bookstores. Only here it is: unlike the Lord of the Rings or to Game Of Thrones, never Dune has only managed to break through beyond science fiction enthusiasts and become a huge pop culture phenomenon, served by several film failures.

Will this change thanks to the film adaptation of Denis Villeneuve, in French theaters from Wednesday, September 15? Dune In any case, it has the potential, with its extended universe and its themes more current than ever, foremost among which is ecology.

Corentin Lamy, deputy head of the Pixels department of World, tells, in this episode of the podcast “L’Heure du Monde”, the astonishing destiny of Dune.

An episode produced and presented by Morgane Tual, directed by Amandine Robillard.
