Podcast. How “Matrix” marked pop culture

When Matrix released in 1999, the spectators are amazed. The film combines special effects of incredible quality for the time and combat scenes of a new genre. the “Bullet time”, this super-slow-motion effect used by the directors, the Wachowski sisters, is remembered as the visual signature of the film. And his characters, Neo, Trinity, Morpheus, quickly rose to the rank of pop icons.

More than twenty years later, a new opus has been added to the saga. With Matrix Resurrections by Lana Wachowski, which will be released on December 22 in France, can the magic still operate?

Damien Leloup is a journalist in the Pixels department of World. In this podcast, he traces the journey and sources of inspiration of Matrix, going back to the writer Philip K. Dick who almost formulated the idea during a conference given in Metz in 1977 !
