Podcast. Mediator case: route of a health scandal

It took the aggressiveness of a pulmonologist from Brest, Irène Frachon, for the scandal to finally break out. After more than thirty years on the market, the Mediator, a drug accused of causing serious heart damage, was finally withdrawn from sale in 2009. On Monday March 29, more than a decade later, the case was finally tried. : Servier laboratories, which marketed the drug, were sentenced for “Aggravated deception” and “Manslaughter”.

Emeline Cazi and Henri Seckel, journalists at World, come back, in this first episode of the podcast “L’Heure du Monde”, on this huge health scandal, involving a flagship of the French pharmaceutical industry, the Servier laboratories, and highlighting the problematic links between the world of medicine, medical experts and the political community.

A podcast produced by Morgane Tual, directed by Amandine Robillard and presented by Jean-Guillaume Santi.
