Discover a new podcast from our Animehameha podcast, this time dedicated to the new animated series “Mashle” available on the Crunchyroll platform!

“Chocolate !” “Cream puff !” No, this is not a list of the most delicious pastries, but rather the words of the end credits of a new Japanese anime series: Mashle. Adaptation of the eponymous manga by Hajime Komoto (Crunchyroll editions), this program takes place in a world where the norm is to possess magical powers.

But conversely, anyone without any power is punished by death. Raised in the countryside by his adoptive grandfather, Mash Burnedead leads a carefree existence, compensating for his lack of powers with an impressive musculature resulting from intensive training.

This bodybuilding and cream puff enthusiast will nevertheless end up being unmasked by a policeman who offers him a deal: to join the Easton school of magic to become divinely elected (name given to the most powerful magicians) or incur the penalty of dead. Faced with this choice which is not one, Mash agrees to blend in with the mass of apprentice magicians of his age.

As you will have understood, Mashle ranks in the register of parody, his starting postulate evoking a sort of improbable crossover between the universe of Harry Potter (to which the series makes many references) and the absurd comedy of One-Punch Man. A totally improbable concept, but one that works wonders!

The Animehameha team returned to the event launch of Mashle, and draws an initial assessment of the series after the broadcast of its first three episodes. So that you don’t miss anything from this new Japanese animation event, find a new issue of our podcast placed under the sign of magic… and cream puffs!

The animated series Mashle is to follow every week in simulcast exclusivity on the Crunchyroll platform!
