YouTube is starting the big maneuvers for the launch of podcasts on its music platform.

YouTube has decided that 2023 will be the year podcasts hit YouTube Music. An ambition that is beginning to materialize with the integration of new tools intended for creators.

USA first

When you think of audio streaming, inevitably Spotify comes to mind first. The world-leading platform in the industry, with 500 million users, has not only managed to convince the public to pay a subscription to listen to music, but has also made podcasts extremely popular.

Its competitor YouTube Music could not sit idly by in this area any longer. The YouTube subsidiary therefore announced less than a month ago that it was going to embark on the adventure. Of interest to all those who already have a subscription in the house.

But we will have to be patient, because if today new announcements on the question are made, the service will first start by being deployed in the United States. And we have no idea yet when the rest of the world will be served.

A smooth installation

This small difficulty aside, we can see that YouTube Music is moving quickly on its project. The American company has thus integrated within YouTube Studio, the interface that allows creators to manage their channel, new tools that will be used to produce the famous podcasts.

As we can see above, it is now possible to create a podcast, or to measure the performance of content that has been posted by the owner of a channel. YouTube has also posted two pages detailing the operation and advice for improving the visibility of podcasts.

Will this be enough to attract the public who are now familiar with Spotify, and who already have many tools to manage podcasts? It’s hard to say, but the next few months should give us a first glimpse of the trends.
