Now that Pokémon Go has all the evolutions of Eevee, you may be wondering how to get them, so we tell you how to do it!
After several years of waiting, all “Evolitions” are finally in Pokémon Go. Fans have been begging Niantic to add them to the mobile game since the launch in summer 2016.
But how to get them? There are four methods: evolution, Buddy, using a Decoy, and the nickname trick, the latter being the best and by far the easiest. It will cost you 25 Candy to get an Eevee evolution.
To make sure you find an Eevee at full potential before evolving, we recommend looking for an Eevee nest nearby. Once you have found this nest, all you have to do is go there regularly to capture as many as possible and keep the most promising ones.
The trick of the Eevee nickname on Pokémon Go
Eevee is the Pokémon with the most different evolutions.
Before we look at other methods, you can get one of the evolutions for sure by using the nickname trick. However, this technique can only be done once for each evolution per account.
To rename your Eevee, just click on thepencil icon next to its name in the “Pokémon” menu. You need to give it a very specific name to get the evolution you want, so make sure you type it in correctly before clicking “Evolve”.
These nicknames are not there by chance since they come from the animated Pokémon! Now that you know them all, here are the step-by-step instructions:
- catch an Eevee (try to get one with a good level)
- Click on your Eevee through the Pokémon screen
- Next to the name “Eevee” is a pencil iconclick on it
- Change the name for the appropriate nickname
- Restart the Pokémon Go application to ensure that the nickname is registered correctly
Unfortunately, this trick only works once per nickname. Therefore, once you have evolved an Eevee using one of these nicknames, if you use the same nickname again, the next evolution will be determined by the classic conditions given by the game and the nickname will therefore not have more effect.
How to get Aquali, Voltali and Pyroli on Pokémon Go
Generation 1 Evolves are the easiest to get…if you’re lucky!
Once you’ve used the nickname for a single occasion, you’ll need to perform another method for every other Evolution thereafter. For Aquali, Voltali and Pyroli, you need a bit of luck…
Unfortunately, there is no sure way to guarantee that you will get one of these three creatures. Indeed, it is completely random when you click on “Evolve”. Of course, you will get one of the evolutions of the first generation, but you cannot choose which one.
This means you’ll either have to be incredibly lucky to get the one you want on the first try, or catch multiple Eevee and stock up on Candies as it costs 25 each evolution.
How to get Mentali and Noctali on Pokémon Go
Eevee evolves into Mentali and Noctali depending on the time of day.
Although the evolutions of the first generation are random, you can guarantee yourself a Mentali or a Noctali thanks to another trick than that of the nickname. On the other hand, it is much less simple.
To do this, we must go back to the second generation and the Pokémon games Gold and Silver versions. Rather than an Evolution Stone, it was the time of day that determined Eevee’s evolution. Evolving it overnight (6:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. game time) offered a Noctali. Conversely, the other 14 hours of the day caused an evolution in Mentali.
The method is relatively similar in Pokémon GO. First, make sure your Eevee you want to evolve is your buddy pokemon and that he has found two Candy.
Then you will have to walk 10 km with him. If the time of day in the game is between 6 p.m. and 4 a.m., you will get a Noctali. If it is between 4:01 a.m. and 5:59 p.m., you will have a Mentali.
How to get Frostali and Phyllali on Pokémon Go
With a Lure Module, Eevee will evolve into Frostlily or Phyllali.
Two more “Evolutions” were added during the fourth generation of Pokémon. These are Grass-type Phyllali and Ice-type Frostlily.
Like Mentali and Noctali, you can evolve your Eevee into either without using the nickname trick. Just make sure you have an Eevee with 25 Candies in stock.
Then buy a Mossy Lure Module or one Glacial Lure Module. You will quickly understand, if you want a Phyllali, you will have to use the Mossy Lure on a PokéStop and if you want a Frostli, use an Icy Lure. Once the object is used, all you have to do is evolve your little bushy critter!
How to get Nymphali on Pokemon Go
Nymphali, the latest evolution of Eevee, came to the game on May 25, 2021
For Nymphali, you’ll need to make Eevee your companion again, just like Mentali and Noctali. But this time, it’s not a question of distance in kilometers, but of Heart.
After getting best friend status, you should be able to turn it into a Nymphali. This is no mean feat, so be prepared to spend some time on it.
