Prepare your in-game and IRL bag
If you live in town, you probably won’t need to travel too much to enjoy GO Fest. On the other hand, if the Pokéstops and Pokémon are rare near you, do not hesitate to join the nearest city to take full advantage of the event. If this is the case, obviously pay attention to the weekend’s weather conditions and plan a backpack accordingly: water bottle, sunscreen, cap, external battery to charge the phone, bandages, sunglasses etc.
It obviously does not stop there: also think about fill your in-game bag with all the objects necessary to capture Pokémon: berries to facilitate capture, Incense to attract them, decoy modules, lucky eggs for experience, incubators for eggs and above all Balls galore. Rotate as many Pokéstops around your home as possible and open all your friends’ gifts to collect as many items as possible. Feel free to expand your storage space for items and Pokémon as well. Mega Evolve one of your Pokemon
With the recent overhaul of the mega-evolution system, it becomes more interesting to use it very often to take advantage of bonuses and improve the level of the Pokémon. Be aware that once a Mega-Evolved Pokémon, a candy bonus on catch will activate for its type. For example, if you Mega Evolve Altaria, you’ll get 1 extra Candy each time you capture a Dragon-type or Fairy-type Pokémon. This can be particularly interesting for the little one Chopstick, one of the stars of GO Fest. If the dragon has been present for some time already in the game, rare are the trainers who have managed to get their hands on it and especially enough to make it evolve twice.
On the other hand, if you simply want to mega-evolve the Pokémon that will allow you to bring back the most candy possible, then you should know that the Plant and Water types will be the most present during the GO Fest. Thus, feel free to mega-evolve Blizzaroi or flagadoss.
Use relevant items during the event
If you are not familiar with the mobile game and you come back to it simply for the occasion, it is good to do a little catching up on the various objects useful for your adventure:
- Star Pieces : this object is very important because, once activated, it will allow you to obtain 2x more stardust when capturing a Pokémon. The dust is then used to recharge your monsters (upgrade them) and make trades. If you’re going out to enjoy the event and meet people, you’d probably like to trade, so dust will be needed.
- lucky egg : GO Fest is definitely the best time to use a Lucky Egg which allows you to get 2x more experience points when you capture a Pokémon or spin a Pokéstop for example. Our advice: only use a lucky egg once you have spotted a few new monsters on your screen that you have never captured. Evolve them immediately afterwards. If you have trainers you are about to become best friends with, then open the gift at the right time to earn 200,000 XP!
- Incense : To be activated constantly during the event in order to attract more Pokémon. If you own the paid GO Fest ticket, you’ll even attract exclusive Pokémon.
- raid pass : whether remotely or not, stock up on Passes so as not to miss the various weekend raids. Consider saving a few for Sunday when the new 5-Star Raid is revealed.
Choose the Right Special Study Path
By buying the Pokémon GO Fest 2022 Paid Ticket, a special study will be available and will ask you to choose between three paths: one focused on exploration, another on capture and the other focused on combat. It goes without saying that if you are stuck at home, it is not relevant to choose the Explorer path which will most certainly require you to travel for miles.
