What are the rules of the challenge?
Started on October 30, 2021 as can be seen in the screenshot above, the challenge must not have been easy. The player explains that despite many constraintshe also agreed some freedoms. Here is his checklist:
- Prohibition to capture Pokemon outside of the starter. The challenger decided to start the adventure with Bulbasaur

- Raids are allowed for rewards and XP but it is forbidden to capture the Pokémon at the end
Here is an unenviable list of constraints that leads us to ask ourselves a simple question: how to earn XP in these conditions? The player still has six ways to gain experience: spinning PokéStopsfight the GO Rocket minions and defenders ofarenasTo do hatch eggs, make to evolve Pokemon, to offer gifts to his friends and succeed in raids/quests excluding capture.
The main obstacle is the ability to evolve your Pokémon which is very limited. Indeed, he needs candies which can only be obtained in two ways: by catching the Pokémon, which is prohibited, or by hatching it, what is random. This is therefore his biggest problem, he has to walk a lot to hatch as many eggs as possible in order to have a better chance of obtaining the necessary candies.
How far can we go with these constraints?
Reaching level 30 given the bans imposed by the player is already a great achievement. We are approaching 2 million experience points accumulated to reach this stage. The next step will be to achieve level 40but for that, 18 million XP points are needed, so we go a step above!
If he succeeds, this will be the end of the trip. Indeed, to evolve beyond level 40, it is necessary to accomplish specific missions which are incompatible with the constraints of the challenge.
