The 2022 Pokémon World Championships will take place from August 18 to 21, 2022 in London. The best Pokémon GO players from around the world will compete to determine who will be crowned Pokémon GO World Champion 2022!
In addition to other prizes, the Pokémon GO World Champion will receive a World Champion 2022 outfit and pose for their avatar! And for all other players, a special event will take place on the game to take advantage of many bonuses and even a costumed Pikachu.
Celebrating the World Championships in Pokémon GO
- From Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 10 a.m. to Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 8 p.m.
Pokémon GO is hosting festivities around the 2022 Pokémon World Championships and the GO Battle League. Here’s all you can do:
- Capture a Pikachu World Championships 2022 which will make its Pokémon GO debut in Raids, Field Research, and Timed Research!
- Participants whose Pokémon teams are modeled after those used by Trainers who have won the Pokémon GO Regional Championships will appear at PokéStops.
- The maximum number of GO Battle League series you can participate in per day is increased from 5 to 10, for a total of 50 battles.
- Stardust x3 in GO Battle League rewards,
- A Timed Research will be available to obtain a Costumed Pikachu, 1 Elite Instant Attack TC and 1 Elite Charged Attack TC,
- Evolve Rhinoferos (the evolution of Rhinohorn) during the event to get a Rhinastoc that knows the Charged Attack: Boulder Rock.
- Evolve Spectrum (Fantominus’ evolution) during the event to get Gengar that knows Charged Attack: Shadow Fist.
- Evolve Magikarp during the event to get a Gyarados that knows the Charged Attack: Hydrotail.
- Evolve Metang (Terhal’s morph) during the event to get a Metagross that knows Charged Attack: Meteor Fist.
- Evolve Braisillon (Passerouge’s morph) during the event to get a Flambusard who knows the Instant Attack: Incinerate.
- New cosmetic items in the Shop
