Pokémon Go Trainers Suggest Radar Fix

While Pokémon Go’s popularity is undeniable, that doesn’t mean it’s flawless. The game’s radar, for example, has been a source of contention among veterans for several years, but a simple fix could change everything.

Pokémon Go gives trainers access to an unprecedented amount of Pokémon, no other game in the franchise brings together all generations. From iconic Pokemon from the license to newcomers to Alola, there’s something for everyone. However, this kind of gigantic casting comes at a cost.

The “Nearby Pokémon” feature is intended to show players which Pokémon are closest, but it also shows priority ones, those not registered in the Pokédex, within a wider radius.

When Pokémon Go players have many hours of gameplay behind them, the radar quickly becomes overwhelming.

While this may seem like a good thing at first glance, it also makes life more difficult for players who have been scouring the game for a long time.

Trainers propose an improvement for the proximity radar of Pokémon Go

In the game’s current system, as you level up, your Priority Pokémon begin to get diluted by the mundane Pokémon that you’ve decided to ignore until then because you had no interest in catching them.

Thus a player who has spent many hours in game, will end up being offered almost only common Pokémon instead of something much more exotic.

However, one player found the ideal solution by offering adjustable filters, such as distance, type and weather, which would allow the game to be personalized according to everyone’s priorities.

A radar upgrade would be a welcome addition for players of all skill levels.

If each player could highlight exactly what they are looking for, not only would it make the game easier for veterans, but it would also remove the clutter from the proximity radar.

Many trainers raved about his idea, with some even suggesting additional tweaks. Unfortunately, such adjustments do not seem to be a priority at the moment.

Either way, Niantic has proven time and time again that they can listen to their community. Case to follow!
