Pokémon: How to follow the Indianapolis and Bilbao Regional Championships?

Last month, we were invited to the European International Championships (EUIC) in Frankfurt, Germany. The opportunity for us to set foot on the competitive Pokémon scene, to meet players from VGC (video game), TCG (cards), Pokkén Tournament but also from Pokémon GO. And although we’re not in Indianapolis right now, we intend to follow the esports events of the Pokémon sphere as much as possible. Now that Covid-19 is no longer a problem for traveling (provided you meet the conditions of course and continue to be careful), it’s an opportunity for thousands of trainers to show what they are capable of and to collect some points in anticipation of the Worlds, in London, in August 2022!

Regional Championships in Indianapolis and Bilbao: how to follow the competition?

If you want to follow the matches of TCG, VGC, Pokkén, Pokémon GO and even Pokémon Unite (which is entitled to its stand this time!), you will find live broadcasts on Twitch mainly:

  • dates : From May 7 to 9, 2022
  • Place : Indianapolis, United States but also in Bilbao, Spain
  • Indianapolis stream link: official pokemon channel
  • Bilbao stream link: VictoryRoad channel

You can also follow the Indianapolis event on the official Pokémon YouTube channel:

Light on Pokémon Unite

Absent from the EUIC, Pokémon Unite is finally in the game for regional tournaments. The selected teams will then be able to participate in the London Worlds! A real esports game, the moba is still a hit even if the hype at the start has obviously gone down. In France in any case, the community is still very present and hopes to do well.

If you’re there, don’t forget to turn on your Pokémon GO game on mobile. This would be an opportunity to collect some special Championship Pokéstops, to capture wild Judokrak (shiny with a little luck) or Karaclée via special field studies. Note that the next regional event will be held in Lille on May 21 and 22, 2022!

Let’s not be afraid to say it: Pokémon is probably the biggest license in the world with its video games, its collectible cards, its thousands of goodies, its dozens of spin-offs like Pokémon GO and much more. However, the competitive scene, and in particular the VGC, is struggling to break through.
