This Wednesday, August 3, 2022, we were treated to a Pokemon Presents unveiling a new trailer for Pokémon Scarlet and Purple. A ton of new information was then revealed: the name of the region (Paldea), the regional form of Axoloto, some creatures from 9G, the Moto mode of the Legendaries and above all the mechanics inherent to this generation, teracrystallization.
Teracrystallization, kézako?
If this extended name does not speak to you, it is normal. This is a completely new gameplay mechanic, like Mega Evolution or Dynamax, which is exclusive to Paldea.
The latter allows Pokémon to teracrystallize and thus make them sparkling and sparkling. When a Pokémon is teracrystallized, it has a jewel on its head and its body becomes glowing. Furthermore, it can change type and enhance abilities related to its Teracrystal type.
It is important to clarify that all creatures in the Paldea region can use this mechanic, however, some monsters can have more than one type. For example, there is a Pikachu going from Electric to Flying type or Eevee with Normal, Water or Plant Teracrystal type.
Get a special Pikachu!
As with every Pokémon game release, a special gift is offered to all players who purchase the game for the first few months of release. This is not a pre-order bonus but a purchase bonus (obtainable as a code). This time, it’s an in-game Pikachu that will be offered to all players who purchase Pokémon Scarlet and Purple before February 28, 2023. It will have to be collected via the Mystery Gift menu.
This Pikachu has two unique features:
- He knows the Flight abilitywhich he does not normally learn.
- He owns the type Teracrystal Flight.
It takes about an hour and a half of play before you have access to the “Mystery Gift” function which allows you to use this code.
This Pikachu can be obtained in the physical version as well as in the downloadable version.
