Pokémon Scarlet and Purple: Here is the list of Pokémon known for now

Pokemon Scarlet and Purple has just unveiled its second trailer and now that we are starting to have a good sample of creatures shown in these videos, we thought it was time to start listing them to get a first idea of the Pokédex of this new region which still does not have an official name.

This article will be updated as new trailers and images are released to add further feedback and announcements.

Pokemon from older generations

Obviously with already more than 900 creatures already available, Game Freak was not going to start offering the first 100% new regional Pokédex and is already drawing from the old generations to bring out a mix between the essentials and Pokémon that have had fewer appearances for the moment.

And we haven’t listed them since we’re sticking to those we’ve seen but we suspect that if we see a member of an evolutionary family, the rest shouldn’t be very far except in case of regional form or new developments. There will also be version-exclusive Pokemon to consider, which means some will likely need to be traded despite appearing in the trailers.

We’ve arranged these Pokémon in order of their numbering in the National Pokédex.

  • Pikachu
  • Mimitoss
  • Meowth
  • Psyduck
  • Magneti
  • Ectoplasm
  • Lainenergie
  • Granivol
  • euphoria

But as we move to a new generation, Game Freak can’t just rely on old creatures to populate the next areas to explore. We expect to see a little less than a hundred new Pokémon (at least in the 70-80s) with probably regional forms and new evolutions but also why not a mechanism that brings new designs like the Mega-evolution or the Gigamax.

  • Poussacha (plant starter)
  • Chochodile (Fire choke)
  • Coiffeton (Water starter)
  • Pohm (Electric)
  • Gourmet (Normal)
  • Olivini (Plant/Normal)
  • Koraidon (Legendary Pokémon Scarlet)
  • Miraidon (legendary Pokemon Purple)

Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Purple will be released on November 18, 2022 on Nintendo Switch.
