Not long ago, fans of Ed Sheeran saw some clues appear on his networks, gradually revealing a title of the singer around the universe of Pokémon. Always passionate about Nintendo’s little creatures, he had already done a few collaborations with Niantic on Pokémon Go.
Currently on tourhe had recently unveiled an excerpt from his next single, Celestial, played in a puddle of Pokemon plushes. Shortly after, his community was able to discover the cover of the single, Ed Sheeran with a small Pikachu on his shoulder. Today’s clip Celestial has been unveiled, and the collaboration between the singer and The Pokémon Company for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet seems to be confirmed!
You make me feel Celestial
This is a tune that should stay in your mind as Ed Sheeran’s new single is catchy. The clip, unveiled today, features the singer in his daily life, surrounded by his favorite Pokémon. Images from real life and cartoons alternate to draw a parallel between fantasy and reality.
Surrounded by Pokémon, Ed Sheeran imagines himself in fields of flowers created by Bulbizarres, or even in a studio with all his favorite little creatures like Mew. We also observe at the end of the clip a scene from the mythical film Pokémon the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back during which the singer manages to interrupt the confrontation between Mew and Mewtwo and thus save the Pokémon. What we all would have liked to do in the end…
Celestial in Pokémon Scarlet and Purple!
This has been confirmed by the Pokémon France teams, Ed Sheeran’s single will indeed be present for the next Pokémon opus, which will be released on November 18. We don’t yet know what form it will take (communication, ads, in-game, …?) but get ready to have it in mind for a while!
In any case, we imagine the clip perfectly as the song Celestial for the next game from Nintendo, as they reflect quite well the atmosphere of the productions of the license. Ed Sheeran’s single sounds like a message of hope and perseverance that applies to budding trainers around the world!
