After several hours of teasing on November 5 and 6, 2022 on Pokémon GO but also on a special site, we finally know the identity of the new creature that will join 9G on Pokémon Scarlet and Purple.

On Saturday, November 5, 2022, a Community Day Classic Minidraco took place on Pokémon GO. At the end of the latter, players could then spin golden Pokéstops and obtain pstrange coinsin addition to a dialogue with Professor Willow and Professor Jacq from Scarlet and Violet.
Looking closely on the ground, it was then possible to see a strange Pokémon with antennae, seeming to be attracted to the parts in question. At the same time, Pokémon Company has put a website online with a strange chest filling up with coins. Other than a scream and a number, we didn’t know much more about her until today.
In this original video, we can hear Professor Willow and Prof Jacq discuss the Pokémon Mordudor but also tell us the strange story around the latter. It seems that his Pokédex number is the 999 (the number of coins in his safe) but this is only a theory. If this is indeed the case, this means that 9G will add at least 90 new Pokémon to the game.
It would seem that it is up to humans (thus players) to fill the chest with the coins they find in the open world of Paldea.
Important Information : to obtain Mordudor’s chest form in Pokémon GO, it will obviously be necessary to do so by sending the Pokémon from Scarlet and Purple to Pokémon GO.
Mordudor: who is this new Pokémon?
The mysterious antennae Pokémon is therefore a lover of gold coins and has two different forms: a “walking form” and a “chest form”. the site is now up to date and offers us some new visuals. For now, we only have information about its trunk form:

- Cut : 0.3m
- Weight : 5.0kg
- Talent : Phobic
It is therefore possible that in walking form, its type changes.
In the gameplay video below, we can notably see that Mordudor (chest form) can blend into the landscape like a Trompignon and its Pokéball appearance, in order to deceive the player. A bit like a mimic in Dragon Quest as well. In marching form, Mordudor hides next to direction signs instead.
