This Wednesday, September 7, 2022, we were treated to new information on Pokémon Scarlet and Violet via a new trailer. After the reveal of Motorizard at Worlds and Tag-Tag more recently, the 9G Pokédex is still growing, but that’s not the only thing to remember from the trailer!
Three new Pokémon from 9G!
This new back-to-school focused trailer is packed full of never-before-seen Gen 9 Pokémon! Still no form of Paldea for Meowth or new form of Eevee but here’s something to satisfy you probably:
Craparoi
- Kind rock
- talent : Wrath / Shell Armor
Craparoi’s talent, Wrath, appears for the first time in the Pokémon saga. If he has less than half his HP after being attacked, Craparoi enrages. Its Defense and Special Defense go down, but its Attack, Special Attack and Speed go up.
Carmadura

Introducing Team Star and other characters
The Star Team
It was time ! After the presentation of the new region of Paldea this summer, we now know the name of the enemy Team that will constantly hinder us during our adventure. This team is made up of rebellious students.
At the entrance to each lair, numerous Minions will send their Pokémon, one after another, to block your way. If you KO enough Pokémon within a specified time, you can challenge the boss to battle.
Launch auto-battles, a useful feature that makes its first appearance in these games, to overcome the onslaught of Minions and their Pokémon! Please note that Team Star member uniforms differ depending on your version of the game.
Once past the onslaught of Team Star Minions, their boss will appear in a customized vehicle called Starmobile. It seems that during your Pokémon battles against these bosses, their Starmobile can get in your way. Defeat the boss of each team by knocking out their Pokémon… and their Starmobile!
Meloco is the head of Team Star’s Fire Team, also known as the Schedar Group.
The League and Arena Champions
Colza is the Arena Champion of Cuencia, a flowery city with great artistic dynamism. This type Pokémon specialist Plant is also known as Vertuose.
5 other important things to remember
- It will be possible to to be accompanied/followed by one of his Pokémon during the adventure! Use the “Forward!” to send it in the indicated direction. The return of the Dominant Pokémon
In the “A Scent of Legend” path, you’ll have to help Pepper investigate Secret Spices that will instantly perk up when consumed. These herbs are very rare and only grow in Paldea. The Secret Spice fragments are guarded by the Pokemon Dominants, which are larger and more powerful than other Pokémon and make these condiments even harder to obtain. A number of Dominant Pokémon have been sighted in the region.
The Nintendo Switch OLED Scarlet and Purple
To celebrate the release of 9G, a special edition Nintendo Switch OLED console will go on sale on November 4, 2022. The game will be included in it but you can only play it on November 18 of course.
As a reminder, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are the new versions of the franchise that will be released on November 18, 2022 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
