Police are looking for witnesses – a skier lay motionless on the slopes in Ischgl

A 62-year-old German skier caused a stir on Friday afternoon when she lay on the ground after a fall. An unknown winter sports enthusiast saw the woman and alerted the piste rescue team. The police are now looking for the skier and witnesses to the accident.

The German was in the Ischgl ski area shortly before 4 p.m. In the area below the Flimjochbahn, in the immediate vicinity of the busy Höllbodenbahn, the woman may have fallen for reasons unknown. She then remained motionless on the piste. An unknown skier then called the piste rescue team. She cared for the seriously injured woman. She was flown to the clinic in Innsbruck by emergency medical helicopter. According to the Alpine police, no witnesses could be located. The accident reporter has also not been investigated to date.
