Police are looking for witnesses – unknown man wanted to rob a man with walking difficulties

On Friday evening in Lauterach (Vorarlberg), an 80-year-old senior almost fell victim to a robbery on the street. However, attentive neighbors rushed to his aid and thwarted the crime.

The 80-year-old was cycling along the L190 in Lauterach on his bicycle, which he relies on due to an advanced walking disability, when he was approached by an unknown man with a foreign accent and immediately attacked. Screamed loudly for help. The perpetrator pushed the pensioner and his bicycle against a fence, then searched the 80-year-old for cash. However, he proved to be very defensive and screamed loudly for help. Eventually, neighbors became aware of the screams and rushed to the scene immediately. The perpetrator then fled towards Bregenz on his bicycle and without any stolen goods. Witnesses wantedThe police are now looking for a 20 to 25 year old man of medium stature (approx. 1.75 meters). At the time of the crime he was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes. Witnesses to the crime or people who can provide information about the incident are asked to contact the Lauterach police station.
