Police puzzled – “money rain” in rum: Euro notes flew through the air

This kind of “window of money” is probably only seen in films. In the area of a gas station in Rum near Innsbruck on Wednesday morning, banknotes amounting to a considerable amount were literally “dancing” through the air. “Customers” were quickly there, but the owner was not.

The extraordinary incident, which made even experienced police officers smile, occurred on Wednesday around 10:40 a.m. in Rum on or next to Tiroler Straße B 171. “Witnesses” took notes. The exact scene was the immediate vicinity of the Avanti gas station there. As if out of the blue, banknotes worth 100 and 200 euros suddenly fluttered through the air. The “blessing of money”, which no one knows how it came about, immediately attracted numerous passers-by. They grabbed some of the notes and disappeared. A witness who pointed out the illegality of her actions called the police. Where the considerable amount, the amount of which the police do not know exactly, came from is still a mystery. It is suspected that the money could have “flown” from the roof of a car that was driving away from the gas station. Losers unknown Some of the finders have now come forward and handed the money over to the police. The police are still puzzling over who the owner of the notes could be. Because he hasn’t moved yet. The loser, the finders and witnesses of the incident should contact the Rum police station (Tel: 059133/7121).
