The police are warning of fake summons that arrive in the mailboxes by e-mail. The mails allegedly come from large police authorities such as Europol, Interpol, the European Police Office, the Federal Police, etc.
The emails have subject lines such as “Summons before court” or “Krim / VER / REG / VORLADUNG / Nr. 07006… -Important “and contain a PDF file that claims to come from one of the named police authorities. For this purpose, it is provided with numerous logos from various European police authorities and from Interpol, as well as various stamps and signatures. That should make the PDF look real and serious. Sometimes the authority names, logos, stamps, signatures and names are randomly mixed up or made up, as the police emphasize.
The PDF states that the recipient is being investigated or charged. Because of various “offenses” or criminal offenses such as cyber pornography, child pornography, pedophilia, online masturbation, exhibitionism, online procurement or the use of the sexual blackmail site Pornograhique. The recipients should therefore report back by email to [email protected], for example, and comment on the allegations mentioned in the email.
Anyone who does not report within the specified period must expect further measures, including the publication of personal data, preparation of a report, etc. In this way, family members and friends could also find out about the crime. This strange threat alone shows that the emails are fake.
