Polishing machines in the test: How to bring the car to a high gloss

Car paint can be brought to a high gloss without any problems with a good polishing machine. We show the best models from the test.

Polishes protect the car, or more precisely: the car paint. Because the polish keeps it fresh, which preserves the value of your car. However, anyone who has ever polished and waxed a vehicle by hand knows what physical exertion it is. A polishing machine makes the job much easier. Even minor scratches can be removed with the right polish.

There are basically two types of polishing machines: the eccentric and the rotary machine. Eccentric polishing machines are said to be more suitable for beginners. These move in a circle. As a result, the machine does not remain in the same place for too long and the risk of paint damage is minimized. The number of revolutions is lower here than with rotary machines. Rotary machines are more suitable for the more experienced. It moves in an elliptical shape. It removes a lot of paint in a short time and thus enables fast work with a high sanding effect. However, very high temperatures occur during work. There is a risk of removing too much paint. Ultimately, it is also a matter of taste which polishing machine you choose.

Which polishing machine do you recommend? Our partner AllesBeste* has extensively tested 10 devices in practical use. The 3 top models are shown in the table below.
