Polisse: is the film inspired by real events?

Released in cinemas in 2011, the cult movie polishesrealized by Maiwenn, will be rebroadcast on Sunday May 29, 2022, from 9:05 p.m. on TFX. Worn by Karin ViardJoeyStarr, Marina Foïs and Nicolas Duvauchelle, this feature film features police officers from the minors protection brigade (BPM) in Paris. They fight against the countless abuses suffered by minors : tracking down pedophiles, apprehension of parents suspected of abuse, monitoring of pickpocketed teenagers, teenagers in sexual drift, protection of homeless minors, minor victims of rape, etc.

Immersed in this trying universe, these very involved and close-knit police officers try to preserve their privacy and their mental health. Melissa, a young photographer embodied on screen by Maïwenn, is sent to do a photo report in the morality unit. She will cross paths with Fred, a policeman played by JoeyStarr, who seems affected by his work and his daily life. It was when she came across a documentary devoted to the Brigade des Mineurs (BPM) that Maïwenn wanted to make Polish. Before writing the screenplay for his film, the filmmaker spent time within this brigade to listen and observe.

“I kept going from one group to another taking notes, I was like a sponge to absorb as much as possible of what I saw. Even during the three-hour lunch break, or in the evening, at aperitif time, I did not let them go so as not to miss any of their discussions, and I asked thousands of questions“, indicated the director. Therefore, all the cases presented in polishes are true.

There was simply a concatenation in time and space. For instance, the scene of the confrontation of the grandfather with his granddaughter is inspired by a report entitled My little darling, directed by Christine François, and broadcast in 1998 on the show Striptease on France 3. Furthermore, certain dialogues and plans of the film are the exact copy of real facts resulting documentary Brigade of minors, directed by Christine François and Rémi Lainé.
