Political life and presidential campaign in pictures

Jadot relies on the wind turbine to take off “In a campaign, you have to know how to take the height”. Yannick Jadot, EELV presidential candidate, applied this slogan to the letter on Friday October 22 by climbing to the top of one of the three wind turbines in the Saint-Père-en-Retz park in Loire Atlantique. We go up there in the elevator, then on the ladder, says Jean-François Monier, photographer at AFP. On the head of the wind turbine, 110 meters high, there were only three: him, the candidate and a technician. Passed there, “the message is much more incisive, the convictions deeper”, analyzes the journalist marked by the “serenity” of the moment and the “majestic landscape” which was offered to them. It wasn’t a first for anyone. Yannick Jadot had already climbed to the top of a wind turbine in Guadeloupe. Jean-François Monier took the same photo in January 2018, in Sarthe, but with Nicolas Hulot, then Minister of Ecological Transition, green helmet and harness at the top.
