Poll: Emmanuel Macron still in the lead, but the gap narrows in the second round

The latest poll published by Ifop-Fiducial for “Paris Match”, LCI and Sud Radio on French voting intentions for the presidential election credits Emmanuel Macron in the lead, ahead of Marine Le Pen, Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Valérie Pécresse. However, the gap narrows in the second for the president-candidate and the leader of the National Rally.

What are the voters’ voting intentions for the presidential election? A survey carried out by Ifop-Fiducial is published this Friday for Paris Match, LCI and South Radio. And Emmanuel Macron still comes first, credited with 28% of voting intentions, against 29% to 31% the previous week. The president-candidate is acclaimed by 30% among the youngest and 31% among the oldest, 31% among managers, but also 25% among workers.

The gap is closing between Macron and Le Pen

Marine Le Pen goes back, with 20.5% of the voting intentions. The National Rally candidate is thus approaching her score in the first round of the presidential election in 2017, where she had collected 21.3%. In the second round, the gap narrows in the event of a duel against Emmanuel Macron: it would be 46.5% against 53.5%.

Then come Jean-Luc Mélenchon (LFI), with 14%, Valérie Pécresse (LR) at 11.5% and Eric Zemmour (Reconquest) at 11%, neck and neck. Finally, Yannick Jadot is credited with 5%, Fabien Roussel with 3.5%, Jean Lassalle and Anne Hidalgo with 2%, Nicolas Dupont-Aignan with 1.5% and finally Philippe Poutou and Nathalie Arthaud with 0.5%.
