The Paris police headquarters announced the reduction of 20 km / h in the speed authorized in Ile-de-France on Friday, due to an episode of pollution with fine particles.

This measure will be applied from “Friday February 10, and until the end of the episode, between 5:30 a.m. and midnight”, indicates the police headquarters (PP) in a press release. The maximum authorized speed is lowered to 110 km/h on the motorway, to 90 km/h on roads normally limited to 110 km/h and to 70 km/h on those usually limited to 80 km/h or 90 km/h. h.

Heavy goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are obliged to circumvent the area via the Ile-de-France ring road.

To reduce fine particle pollution, the PP also prohibits on Friday the use of individual heating with auxiliary or amenity wood, “which contributes most strongly to the emission of fine particles”.

Airparif, the association for monitoring air quality in Ile-de-France, forecasts for Friday an episode of “persistent” particle pollution (PM10), with an “exceeding of the information-recommendation threshold set at 50 μg/m”.
