The vote for the popular primary of the left is open from this Thursday morning, and until Sunday. The 467,000 registered will therefore have to decide between seven personalities, including Anne Hidalgo, Yannick Jadot, Christiane Taubira and Jean-Luc Mélenchon. Europe 1 explains how this citizen consultation will take place.

The popular primary has been unleashing passions on the left for several weeks. This Thursday opens the vote to determine who the 467,000 people registered want to see the values and the program defended by this citizens’ initiative carried during the presidential election. They have until Sunday 5 p.m. to decide between the seven personalities selected.

Ratings from “Very good” to “Insufficient”

Registrants therefore have four days to designate the most consensual candidate on the left. Among them, four are at the top of the list: Anne Hidalgo, Yannick Jadot, Christiane Taubira and Jean-Luc Mélenchon. To decide, the voters will have to answer the following question: “to win ecology and social justice in the presidential election, I believe that each of these personalities would be… ‘Very good’, ‘Good’, ‘Fairly good ‘, ‘Fair’ or ‘Insufficient'”.

The winner will be the one with the most votes above the “Passable” rating. An illegitimate and useless popular primary according to Anne Hidalgo, Yannick Jadot and Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who, they assure, will not change anything in their respective campaigns. But a primary they all secretly hope to win.
