Porsche displaced – Cupra drivers are Germany’s top traffic offenders

Cupra is making a name for itself as a brand. Once just the sporty sub-brand of Seat, it is now an independent brand within the Volkswagen Group, albeit still closely linked to Seat. The Cupra drivers involuntarily tinker with the brand image – by diligently collecting points.

Drivers of Cupra cars have points in Flensburg particularly often. Around 8.1 percent of owners have at least one entry in the central register for traffic offenses, as determined by the comparison portal “Check24” based on customer data. For the first time, Porsche drivers are only in second place with 7.3 percent, ahead of Jaguar with 6.6 percent . But not only the users of conventional sports cars are often conspicuous – with Tesla (6.4 percent), a purely electric car brand ranks fourth. The average across all makes is 4.8 percent. The fact that the young sports car brand Cupra has pushed Porsche from the top of the negative rankings is likely to be related to the fact that the clientele tends to be quite young. On average, drivers of Porsche and Jaguar models are a bit older – and possibly more sensible.
