The state championships in figure skating were a complete success for Salzburg’s athletes. They won a total of six medals.
Above all, top talent Sophia Schaller was in strong form. Together with Livio Mayr she won gold in pair skating and then also individual silver. “Sophia did her job brilliantly,” said Salzburg President Carmen Kiefer. Sophia’s sister Flora also knew how to impress, winning silver in the juniors. Giorgia Ghedini and Luc Maierhofer celebrated gold in the junior pair race. There were also two junior medals. Clara Fötschl became Vice State Champion for the schoolgirls. The Basic Novice synchronized figure skating team Sweet Mozart also achieved the Vice Student Championship title. “All in all, we can be very satisfied with the performances shown,” said Kiefer happily.
