Do you want to develop a positive mindset and say goodbye to negative thoughts? We introduce 5 mantras that will make you happier.

Positive mindset: put an end to negativity

With a positive mindset you can Go through life more confidently and self-confidently. But not all of us are endowed with an irrepressible optimism that can cushion negativity. So do we have to put up with pessimistic thoughts? Under no circumstance! With practice and repetition, anyone can learn to think more positively. Internalize the following five thoughts and you will be assured of a positive mindset.

1. I am enough

Had a long weekend and just lying on the couch? We all know that! Instead of feeling guilty about it, there is one important mantra you should remember: I am enough!

Your worth is not determined by whether you checked off all the tasks on the to-do list, the kitchen was tidy, or your legs were shaved. You are enough – even if you do nothing, do not make progress, are not stylishly dressed and no longer fit into your favorite jeans. A realization that in our present day performance-oriented society so often forgotten. Take the pressure and the negativity out of yourself and don't let any deficits convince you. Don't drive yourself crazy – make yourself happy!

2. I can't make wrong decisions

Why do we stay in a job we don't like? Why don't we let go of the partner who is not good for us? We are afraid of making the wrong decisionthat we regret in retrospect. However, we could save ourselves a lot of fears, worries and negative thoughts by realizing that there are no wrong and right decisions.

For the moment you always make the right decision – with all the knowledge, all the experience and all your intuition that you have available at this moment. If a choice feels good to you, no matter what happens to it in the future, you're right. None of us can know that. And who knows how the alternative would have worked out? Since we will always lack this information, we cannot draw any comparison. So: Don't let the fear of wrong decisions slow you down and trust your gut feeling. Mistakes will always happen in life – with every decision option.

3. Positive mindset: I am my own best friend

What do you do when your bad girlfriend is feeling bad? Perhaps you will encourage her, compliment her, cook her a delicious meal, or persuade her to take a walk in the sun.

And what do we do so often when we have a stupid day ourselves? We complain about ourselves, hide away, reproach ourselves, grab fast food. Often we become ours ourselves greatest critic – and that stands in the way of a positive mindset. Instead, become your own best friend and take care of yourself like someone you really care about. If something goes wrong, it means:

  • forgive yourself
  • comfort you
  • cheer yourself up
  • remember your strengths
  • treat yourself considerately – including your body

In short: a positive mindset requires a positive attitude towards yourself.

4. I control my mood

Who doesn't know it: bad news, a depressing TV report, a bitchy sister – the good mood is quickly gone. It's not that easy to stay positive when negative is beating down on us, is it? No question about it, you cannot control everything that comes your way in life. But what you can always control is your own mood!

You can turn things around in any situation and do something good for yourself, which brings you back to different thoughts. In every situation you can decide whether you find something positive want or only see negative things. Is the glass half full or half empty? You decide! As the saying goes: happiness is a question of attitude. A positive mindset solidifies itself when we decide to gain something positive from every situation.

5. I make the most of the here and now

As individual as we are we all have one thing in common: Nobody knows what will happen in the future. You can plan, organize, hope – and still be surprised. Negativity creeps into our lives through fear of the future and this fuels self-doubt. Often times we live for the future so often that we do can no longer appreciate the present moment. We no longer perceive it. And that is fatal.

When we go shopping, our minds are already at dinner, while brushing our teeth we go through tomorrow's tasks, when we start work we think about the end of work. But when do we really take our time? to live fully in the moment?

Switch off future plans and fears for the moment and be grateful for the here and now. Yes, even when everything is not going well – there is always something we can be grateful for. And if it's just the roof over your head: that many people don't have one. Gratitude is a wonderful breeding ground for a positive mindset.
