Stanislas Guerini, Minister of Transformation and Public Service, was the guest of La Grande interview Europe 1-CNews. This week, Emmanuel Macron did not rule out the idea of sending troops to Ukraine, while the conflict between kyiv and Moscow has been slipping in recent months. A controversial statement, which neither the United States nor many European countries have publicly supported.
And the President of the Republic’s comments did not go unnoticed in Russia. During his speech to the Nation, Vladimir Putin warned the West of a “real” risk of nuclear conflict, in the event of escalation on the Ukrainian front.
Do not lie down in front of Vladimir Putin
Invited this Friday morning to Romain Desarbres’ microphone, Stanislas Guerini judges that Vladimir Putin’s words reflect the interest of Emmanuel Macron’s words. “Putin’s reaction is proof that Macron is right,” he judges on the set of La Grande interview.
“Emmanuel Macron is right when he does not lie down in front of Vladimir Putin. We cannot say in the morning that Ukraine and what is happening in Ukraine is our own condition of freedom, of defense of democracy and in the evening, go to bed in front of Vladimir Putin”, annoys Minister of Transformation and Public Service.
“We have no right to let Ukraine sink”
“There is a language that this dictator, that Vladimir Putin understands: it is that of force,” he continues, assuring that the head of the Kremlin lost his bet by imagining that “since we are democracies, we will be weak.”
“This bet is lost for Vladimir Putin. And we have no right to let Ukraine sink,” he concludes, believing that Emmanuel Macron is right to “not let himself be contaminated by a spirit of defeat.”
