Power training HI (I) T – you’ve never lost weight so quickly!

During the Christmas season you simply fall for the biscuit plate far too often. That’s perfectly fine if it weren’t for the kilos that make themselves felt in January. Have a sporty hour every now and then – it will be good for you and your figure! We’ll show you which sport everyone is currently into.

We are talking about so-called high-intensity interval training, or HITT for short: This is interval training in which short, very strenuous training units alternate with exercise breaks. Due to the constant change, the metabolism has to work at full speed and fat burning is stimulated.

The best thing about this type of workout is that you burn a huge amount of calories in a relatively short amount of time. Half an hour a day is enough to get your metabolism going. By alternating between fast and slow breathing, the lungs are also trained well. At the same time, interval training increases the release of growth hormones, which are important for building muscle.

But why everyone is currently into this training is the afterburn effect: You still burn a lot of calories up to 48 hours after the training and can therefore eat a little more at the biscuit maker!

Where do i train

You can do interval training on any machine in your fitness center, but also while running or cycling. If you exercise outside, find a flat surface so you can alternate between sprints and slower movements. For outdoor training, we recommend Bluetooth headphones, with which HIIT is even better:

If you work out on the treadmill, a session should last between 20 and 30 minutes. You start with a quick warm up, then run at high intensity for about 30 to 60 seconds, and then take a short rest period where you either walk or do a moderate jog. If you are looking for a treadmill to use at home, we have a few recommendations:

Of course, you can also do the intensive training on the spinning bike. The same applies here: cycle at a high wattage for 30 to 60 minutes, then reduce the intensity. This variety brings the metabolism into full swing!
