While the PPSh is currently the hottest weapon in Warzone following the discovery of a secret buff, the developers have decided to put a stop to it.
A few days after Warzone Pacific Season 2 kicked off, players discovered that the PPSh-41 had received a secret buff that significantly increased its damage output.
While the weapon already had some potential, this excess damage coupled with insane TTK thrust the weapon into the spotlight overnight.
Currently, according to WZRanked, the weapon boasts a 10% pick rate paired with a K/D ratio of 1.29, surpassing with the MP-40 which was nerfed at the launch of Season 2. Nevertheless, there will soon be change.
Warzone PPSh nerf looms on the horizon
While the PPSh is by far the must-have of the moment in Warzone, much to the chagrin of some players who criticize its excessive power, the developers have declared that they are on the verge of ending its devastating reign.
On February 22 they said on Twitter that they were aware of the issue and were working on a fix to get everything back to normal. At the same time, they shared the PPSh map on their Trello, so that players could follow the progress.
❗️ We’re aware of an issue with the PPSh-41’s damage profile, which has resulted in an unintended increase to both its base damage and location-based multipliers.

While it’s still unclear what changes will be made to the weapon, or even when this fix will roll out, it’s always encouraging to know that the developers are already working on a fix.
It remains to be seen, however, if it will be enough to fix the situation on the battle royale.
