Practical for easily finding your belongings, the Apple Airtags set is on sale

[Deal du jour] Apple AirTags are useful for easily finding your items. A little expensive at their normal price, they are much more interesting with a 24% reduction.

What is the promotion on Apple AirTags?

The set of 4 Apple AirTags is sold for €129 on the official Apple website. It is currently available on Amazon for €97.99. Note that a single AirTag costs €29.99.

What are AirTags?

AirTags are small round tags that work via Bluetooth, with a diameter of 31.9 mm and a thickness of 8 mm. Their small size allows them to be slipped into a bag or wallet, or attached to a set of keys. AirTags are made of plastic with a metal back which ensures good strength. They come with more than an IP67 certification and are rain resistant.

These Apple beacons are used to find the objects on which they are attached, thanks to the precise location function which uses Ultra Wideband technology. Apple’s ecosystem ensures that when another user’s iPhone is near your AirTag, the latter sends its location to your smartphone. Note that the AirTag must be stationary for its position to update. If the object on which the beacon is attached is moving, tracking will be more difficult.

Are these AirTags worth the sale?

AirTags are actually a better deal when they’re on sale. Once the AirTags is located, the guidance on your smartphone is precise. For greater efficiency, the beacon can emit an audible signal if you are nearby. Associating an AirTag with an object is also simple, via the dedicated application. Note, however, that Apple’s tags work better with iPhones than with Android smartphones. Compatibility with these is indeed limited.

The AirTags have a battery life of approximately one year, and work with a flat CR032 battery. If, logically, you plan to use the Apple tag with your keys, you will unfortunately have to check out for the essential key ring, which still costs €49 in official Apple stores. Fortunately, there are cheaper alternatives, such as the Belkin Protection Ring, currently priced at €14.50.

Finally, beacons have regularly been criticized for the ease with which some can use them for malicious purposes. On its AirTags, Apple has added safeguards to protect victims of surveillance. There are also solutions to protect against risks.
