Preliminary battle with wild insults: The filthy show of Tyson Fury

Preliminary battle with savage abuse
The filthy show of Tyson Fury

Part three of the boxing trilogy between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder is about to begin and at least one of them is already heavily brushed for riot. Fury insults his opponent with everything he can think of. Before the fight for the championship belt, there are insults, accusations and defiance.

Tyson Fury just didn’t want to stop, the world champion was in his element before part three of the epic boxing trilogy. He had insulted Deontay Wilder for minutes before Fury threw his world championship belt over his shoulder and insulted his intimate enemy even on the way off the press conference podium.

Wilder, whom Fury dubbed alternately as “bum”, “piece of shit” or “pussy”, simply couldn’t admit that his career was over. Twice already he had “spanked his ass” by Fury and was “not man enough” to do anything about it. It was normal Fury madness.

Even the obligatory Staredown was canceled. The danger that the eagerly awaited heavyweight fight could be postponed was real. Fury, unbeaten in 31 professional fights, didn’t seem to be able to wait on Sunday night (4.45 a.m. CEST / DAZN) in Paradise / Nevada in the decisive battle for the WBC World Championship. It is certain that it will be a poisoned fight.

Displayed disinterest

“After that fight, you’ll be back to work at the fast food chain you worked for at the beginning of your career,” said Fury. The exceptional British technician came in a suit with a hundred copies of the WBC belt and had no shirt underneath while he worked on Wilder. The American paddled in a red tracksuit mostly disinterested on the cell phone.

When he spoke, Wilder tried to be casual, but he had most to lose. In the first duel in 2018, he, the then world champion, was clearly inferior to Fury, but saved himself in a draw with two knockdowns. In February of the previous year, the “Gypsy King” Wilder then dominated at will and won by technical knockout in the seventh round – Fury was the new WBC champion.

Wilder digested his first defeat in 44 fights only poorly, the 35-year-old accused Fury, among other things, of smuggling weights into his gloves. Accusations that Fury immediately dismissed in front of part three: “You deny yourself and are knocked out. Do yourself a favor and step back.”

Duel number three is a must

Fury himself had actually not wanted to compete in a third duel, he was speculating on the great unification fight with Anthony Joshua, who had recently lost the other important world championship belts (WBA, WBO, IBF) to the Ukrainian Alexander Usyk. Only a court of arbitration forced Fury to duel number three and thus prevented the Joshua fight.

The present is once again called Wilder, the hammer-hard puncher. In boxing terms, Fury takes him seriously, despite all his personal aversion, and called him “the most dangerous heavyweight”. With 41 knockout victories recorded, there is little to counter this, Wilder can decide fights in one fell swoop despite technical deficiencies. “I play with an atomic bomb, I play around with it and cut wires,” said Fury.

He even goes so far that he describes Wilder as the second major threat in his career – after Wladimir Klitschko, whom he surprisingly dethroned in 2015. Every episode of Fury needs a villain. After returning to the ring in 2018 after a two and a half year hiatus and deep depression, that person was pretty much anyone with a championship belt around his waist for him. Until Fury himself became the man to be defeated again.
